In this section I will be giving you a guide to all the bosses in Chain of Memories.

Credit to Netto Hikari for these boss guides.

Ordered By:

Ansem(Reverse/Rebirth mode)...
This battle is fairly strait forward. You should have played Sora's story first so you might know how to fight pretty well, but Riku's deck is always unchangeable . You have a pretty good deck to fight with and if you just keep pressing the A button you should win with no problem. But remember to watch Ansem's wicked shadow because it seems to have attacks of it's own and use them on you if you get to close.

  Item id #6618

Axel...
Axel has the ability to use fire. He has a big sleight called fire wall, which sends a big wall of fire across the battlefield. To dodge this attack you can either run behind or near Axel before he summons it, or break it. You will know when he is using it when you see three cards under the life bar. Other than that move, he doesn't really have anything that is a real threat. Just keep on the attack. And if you have any blizzard cards, use them for help in this fight.

  Item id #6346

Axel V2...
Axel is still the same but has some fresh new attacks, plus his old favorite, Fire wall. He is also now much faster. His new move Firetooth is when Axel shoots two fireball that home across the field. Card break fire tooth as soon as possible. When you see Axel's flaming hands, try to look for a zero card to break it or you can dodge roll through the gaps. Don't underestimate him because he could catch you by surprise.

  Item id #6390

Capt. Hook...
This fight is most easily won if you constantly push the A button to use attack cards.
Attack Hook with high-numbered cards. When he goes to use a card or a combo, pull out a zero card and finish off the combo with more attack cards. An easy way to do this is to place a few zero cards at the beginning of your deck.. Then scroll past them at the start of the match and fight normally. When you want to use your zero cards just push the R shoulder button and A to break any thing he troughs at you. Remember dodge and heal, just in case.

  Item id #6381

Cloud...
Cloud is a tough opponent, if you don't have a good deck by now. He has high number
cards and can pull off some pretty powerful combos. Success comes from Sora's dodge roll ability. You should use several sleights and have some zero cards for back up.

Cloud tends to attack in combos, too, which makes it harder to card break his attacks if you attack with single cards. Since his special attacks, like Omnislash , are especially harmful and difficult to dodge. Keep your fingers on the L and R buttons to create your own combos to break them defeat him.

  Item id #6348

Darkside...
The good thing about the Darkside is that he doesn't use any sleights or combos. Aim for the Darksides head. If you can card break all of his attacks, it's the only target you'll see. You can just jump to dodge the shock wave, or card break it when he starts to head downwards. When the Darkside fires a big dark ball in the air, it will burst and use homing energy attacks.

While it is possible to dodge the attack, it would be much easier to just card break it. You may get a lucky combo in when you card break his dark ball. Just remember to heal and you should be alright.

  Item id #6387

Dragon Maleficent...
The Dragon could be really tough if you fight it the wrong way. To defeat the dragon, unleash a flurry of constant attacks. Her vulnerable spot is her head, however, she keeps it on the edge of you attack range most of the time.

When she does lower here head, she is most likely about to use an attack. If you have a trick card, this would be the time to use it. Or you can heal and reload.

When the Dragon sends out a breath of green flame, there is no way to dodge this. When the attack ends, small piles of flame remain on the ground. Takes these fires out and you could avoid damage and you might get trick cards out of them.

  Item id #6383

Guard Armor...
The best way to defeat the Guard Armor is to prevent him from launching an attack. To do so, constantly press the A button to attack and card break. If you use potion cards, you could go more that one turn without reloading your deck.

If you don't know this, keep an eye out for special green trick cards. This card makes the Guard Armor fall to pieces.

When the Guard Armor does connect with an attack, watch out for its wandering feet or fists. When you destroy both the hands and feet, the Guard Armor will start to spin. When you he does this attack very quickly or if you have a trick card use it.

  Item id #6345

Hades...
There are times in this fight were you might not be able to dodge his moves, but don't worry about that too much. Hades has two special sleights, Temper flare and Firaga Ball. Firaga ball is easy to dodge as long as you get next to Hades. However this is tough because, especially as you get closer to defeating him. Hades likes to light up his hands and drench Sora in a line of fire. If you are unable to card break this attack, try to get out of his way. When Hades is using Temper flare, he flicks flame with enough power to send Sora flying across the room.
To defeat Hades, you must disrupt his attacks. To do this, try to fight with high-numbered cards or use combos. Stock on a few cure cards and to use as sleights when needed. It is also a good time to heal when Hades's recharge breaks.

  Item id #6349

Jafar...
Jafar isn't the real battle in this fight. You must attack Iago. Don't bother about using magic cards. Just mainly attack and heal when needed. If you want, you could use the Guard Armor enemy card for extra help. It will be most likely hard to attack so use the shifting platforms and jump off them when they are at there highest.

You can also use the trick card when the platforms at there highest and they will momentarily pause .
While you are trying to hit the bird, Jafar will be attacking. A simple roll can evade these
attacks.

  Item id #6347

Larxene...
Larxene specializes in speed and lightning. When she puts together a lightning bolt combo, have a zero card ready to break it. The other time that you have while fighting her, dodge and card break her normal attacks while you chase her trying to use your own combos and sleights.

The best time to attack her is when you are at full force is when she is recharging her attack. If you can pin her in a corner, unleash a steady stream if hits.

If you have to heal, try do it in a sleight when she is reloading or charging her attack and try to have potions and eithers so that you can use the time that she is vulnerable to attack.

  Item id #6353

Larxene V2...
She is really the same as before but she has a cool new move. Teleport Rush is when she warps around the battlefield, hitting Sora with balls of lightning. She can still be put down easily the same way as before though.

  Item id #6389

Lexaeus(Reverse/Rebirth mode)...
Lexaeus uses earth attacks when he fights, and this is pretty new. This, like all the others, shouldn't be that hard because of the powerful dark mode. Just keep attack with it and you will be fine.

  Item id #6621

Marluxia...
Here it is, the big boss man. He isn't really that hard but if you go into the fight unprepared, he can do you in pretty good. Most of his moves do an average amount of damage but they look like they will kill you in you hit. It makes you just want to pull out an zero card to be safe. But don't do it, most of his moves can be dodged if you just keep rolling. But remember, his weapon does have pretty good reach, be careful. He also has a really cool when you get it but bad for you when you fight him double sleight enemy card.

To do well in this fight, use the zero method I mentioned to use against Hook. Trinity Limit wouldn't work just because it doesn't do enough damage. When attacking, try to use nothing below a card number of 8. Try not to use sleights that would take a long time to do because Marluxia has zero waiting for you. Also when you heal, try to heal in sleights, so yu can use other time for reloading and attacking. Also try to have some megalixers and elixers. They probably will come in handy.

  Item id #6391

Marluxia Redux...
This battle could take awhile. To begin the fight you should take out the two swords that have a bar life each. Marluxia doesn't even prevent this from happening. After the swords are gone, focus on Marluxia.. Most of the time after card breaking Marluxia, he will become available for attack. You will know this because a blue target will appear on him. When this happens, start swinging .

Marluxia may attempt to skewer Sora with the underside of the mech unit. When you see him, jump and card break him. More than likely you will be able to jump on the back of his mech and he will turn around to. This is your chance to do some damage, but don't worry about his little shooting pink flowers. Just attack Marluxia. Remember that wind will push you off of the mech as times goes by. When you fall, try to use that time to reload or heal. From here that battle will repeat itself, but you should get used to the moves after your second go around.

  Item id #6392

Oogie Boogie...
Oogie Boogie attacks using a specific sequence. He stands on a platform behind a wrought iron fence, protecting him from incoming attacks. Every so often, though, he tosses out three dice. Hitting at least one of them causes the fence to retract by one-third. Destroy the third round of dice so you can jump onto the stage and take on Oogie Boogie head on. But remember that there is only a limited amount of time to attack him before you are hit off the stage by exploding die, which causes the fence to go back up.

Using trick cards enables you to control when you take on Oogie Boogie. This allows you to be ready when the fence goes down and use your fighting time with Oogie Boogie more effective. Also remember to heal if your HP is low.

  Item id #6352

Parasite Cage...
The Parasite Cage sits on a small platform in the middle of a pool of green stomach acid. There is two ways to defeat him, to attack with wide-ranged attacks like magic, or you can just use strong high-numbered attack by diving right into the acid. This does take life though be cautious. If you get one of those green trick cards, use it to protect Sora from the acid and heal yourself. Just watch out the Parasite's attacks and you'll be fine.

  Item id #6351

Riku...
At this point Riku's most powerful that he uses is his triple attack. Once stunned by his triple attack, you'll need to wait until the effect wears off. This usually gives Riku enough time to unleash another attack.

You can pin down Riku while attacking him with relative ease. If you're having trouble doing so, take a look at your deck and try to fix it where you have barely any cards below 6 or 7, besides zero cards that is.

  Item id #6380

Riku Replica(Reverse rebirth mode)...
At this point you should be accustomed to how Riku fights and you might even know his weaknesses. So use this to your advantage and remember, dark mode leads to an quick an easy victory.

  Item id #6620

Riku V2...
This version is not anything different than the first fight you had with him, except that he likes to fight in sleights now. Dark firaga is easy to dodge so don't waste any of your zero cards on it unless you have to.

Other than that, the same rules apply to this one as it did in the first one.

  Item id #6382

Riku V3...
This just another battle with Riku. Nothing much different. He is a bit tougher this time. If you keep attacking with high-numbered cards, you should win this with ease.

  Item id #6386

Riku V4...
This could be a tough battle if not prepared. It is best to use the strategy from the old Riku fights, combined with the Captain Hook zero strategy. He is faster now with a powerful new move, Dark Aura. In his Dark Aura attack Riku jets around the battlefield and homes in on Sora's position. This attack can do serious damage and it's pretty long. If you get stuck or in danger, use a zero card to break this attack right away.

  Item id #6388

Trick Master...
You can card break this interesting boss's two basics moves pretty easily. Really this battle is very easy to win and if you have been purchasing good cards from the moogles, you should breeze right through this one. Having cards 7 or higher would enable you to break almost any thing the TrickMaster through at you. If you get hurt too much, just step back, heal, and continue and this match will be over with quick.

  Item id #6350

Ursula...
In this fight Ursula is protected by her tentacles. To counter her attacks, take out the tentacles in front her face. Attack her face, but her tentacles will regenerate. During the time that her face is not protected, hit her with many strikes from your Keyblade.

The trick card in this fight destroys the tentacles for you so that you can focus more on Ursula herself, but the tentacles will still regenerate.

Ursula starts to move a lot more and she uses her ultimate attack, Thunder Breath, a little more when her life starts to get low.

  Item id #6379

Vexen...
The easiest way to defeat Vexen is to pursue him from behind with Sora's keyblade. Hopefully your cards are high enough to defend against most of his attacks. Vexen's freeze attack is extremely powerful. The longer that Sora stays frozen, the more damage he takes. Dodge this or use a zero card to break it. If you stand in front of Vexen, he will more than likely smack you with his shield. The hit will not do that much damage but it will knock you to the ground delaying a counterattack.

When you are hurt, use cure cards to help yourself get through this.

  Item id #6384

Vexen V2...
To win this difficult battle, you must card break Vexen's attacks while dodge rolling around to his back and connecting your own attacks. He uses much more combo attacks this time around, so be sure to have zero cards tucked away in front, just incase.

Iceburn is an unusual attack. It can be quite tricky to avoid. Ice needles is a deadly move that follows you for a while. You can keep dodge rolling, if your good at it, or just run away till it stops.

  Item id #6385

Vexen(Reverse/Rebirth mode)...
Vexen still has his stupid shield and you can't preform a dodge roll. But still you can jump out of the way of some of his attacks easily. Try to get into Dark mode as quickly as possible. This will boost every one of Riku's stats and will give you an huge advantage.
Also Vexen has a new sleight, Diamond Dust. He barely uses this sleight but it is really spectacular. Just card break it with one of you own combos or sleights. Other than that, he is basically the same and can't stop you if you are in dark mode.
