Destiny Islands

From Kingdom Hearts - Wiki on Neoseeker

This is the place where Sora, Riku, and Kairi's adventure starts. At the beginning of Kingdom Hearts, Sora, Riku, and Kairi build a raft to try and escape the island. Before they can sail away and search for new worlds, a storm sieges their home world and plunges it into darkness. Sora, Riku, and Kairi are separated in the event. At the end of Kingdom Hearts, Sora, Donald, and Goofy friends come back to face Xehanort's heartless who was possessing Riku's body. Sora and his friends win, and everything is set in balance and Kairi goes back to the Destiny Islands. Sora stays to find Riku and King Mickey after promising to Kairi he will come back for her. In Castle Oblivion, from Kingdom Hearts: Chain Of Memories, Sora and company receive a location card which makes a duplicate of this world, based on Sora's memories.

Later after defeating Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts II, Sora and Riku return to their home, finding Kairi and the others there, who had arrived earlier. Sora returns the lucky charm to Kairi, fulfilling his promise. The final scene shows Kairi revealing a message in a bottle from the King that had floated ashore.
