 Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
No. XIII ROXAS
A boy, newly aware of himself. His light shines as bright and brief as the setting sun.
 Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded
A boy who used cards to guide Sora in the datascape version of Castle Oblivion.
While he bears an uncanny resemblance to another boy deeply connected to Sora, it is more than coat and hood that prevent Sora from seeing.
Was this boy just a phantom, a glitch? Or does this data tie into hurtful memories that sleep within Sora's heart?
Roxas is the Nobody of Sora and Ventus' Hearts. He was created when Sora stabbed himself with Ansem's dark keyblade, which returned Kairi's heart to her body and turned Ven's heart into a Heartless. Kairi was able to reawaken Sora's light and restore him to his original form. Roxas was left behind as his Nobody, a body without a heart. Organization XIII found him and admitted him as their thirteenth member. He was with them and Xion until he encountered Riku. Riku fought Roxas in order to capture him. Riku lost the first fight, but after taking on the power of darkness, he defeated him with ease. Riku took Roxas to DiZ, who transferred Roxas into a virtual copy of Twilight Town. There, Roxas was embedded with new memories of living in that town with his three friends Hayner, Pence, and Olette.
At the start of Kingdom Hearts II, we follow Roxas around Twilight Town and observe him as he struggles with his own civil matters, which are soon interrupted. Organization XIII begins to invade the virtual world in order to reclaim Roxas. During one of Organization XIII's attempts to reclaim Roxas, he rediscovers his Keyblade power. Axel eventually shows up, but Roxas does not remember him. They fight each other a couple times, and Roxas defeats him both times. Roxas also meets Naminé, and she clues him into who he really is before being taken away by DiZ and Riku. The second time Roxas fought Axel, he had begun to remember his past friendship with him, but it was already too late. When Axel was finally out of his way, Roxas came to Sora's slumber pod and reunited with Sora, which restored Sora's memories. Roxas does not show up again until the end of the game and comes out only in ghost-like appearance, given that he is no longer a separate being. His story ends when Sora and Kairi are both home safely, and he is therefore able to be with Naminé.
He later makes a brief appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Roxas wields the Oathkeeper and Oblivion keyblades, representing light and darkness, and Kairi and Riku. He is actually seen with the Kingdom Key as well in "Another Side, Another Story: Deep Dive", after giving Riku the Oblivion to use. When Roxas is in the virtual world, he only uses the Kingdom Key to fight. However, during the final day, he uses both the Oathkeeper and Oblivion keyblades. He eventually fights Sora soon after he had arrived in The World That Never Was. He overpowered Sora, but was defeated in the end.
