Traverse Town is the first world you visit after the Destiny Islands in Kingdom Hearts. This is a world in which the people who have lost their own world due to Heartless reside. Some people that live in Traverse Town include Merlin, Leon, Cid, who owns his own shop, Yuffie, Aerith, the Fairy Godmother, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie who own their own shop as well.
 The Town
Traverse Town is a relatively big town that is split into three smaller districts, the second and third districts being overrun by Heartless, and the first being safe to everyone.
 First District
The First District of traverse Town is where most people from the destroyed world live, because it is free of Heartless and it serves as a safe area. This is also where Cid's Accessory Shop is located, and where Huey, Dewey and Louie's item shop is located.
 Second District
The Second District is the first of the two districts that are affected by Heartless. In this district, one can find the Dalmation's House, and the Gizmo Shop, along with the Hotel in which Sora meets with Leon.
The Second district also has a secret balcony entrance to the Third District, which can be accessed by climbing onto the roofs on the east side of the district. You can also find items on the roofs.
 Third District
The Third District is the smallest of the three, and, similar to the Second District, is also affected by the Heartless. In this district, you can find the Small House, which is the Headquarters of Leon and the rest of his friends, and you can find the Mystical House, which is where Merlin and the Fairy Godmother reside. This house is also where you can enter into Winnie the Pooh's world in the 100 Acre Wood.
